If you venture far enough out Old Mission you’ve got a choice to make coming home; east, west or middle. To be clear, it’s all beautiful but each experience is different so the choice matters. I’ve lived here most of my life and it’s still a conscious decision.
In the evenings I’m partial to the east side. The sunsets aren’t blindingly beautiful like the west side’s are but the diffuse and subtle pastels on quiet still waters is a meditative slow glow perfect for closing out a day.
In my on-going art journey this painting g represents a failed attempt at controlling a gradient - I’ll keep working on that - but I tried to challenge myself to lean into the mistake and see where it went. This is watercolor with white gouache.
