Sitting together in the barn looking out over fields of beautifully temperamental fall weather, we take stock.
Gathering hasn't been easy over the past year, so I am reminded of the luxury of sitting together as a group, a team, a family.
There is the thoughtful quiet after difficulties are shared, and the warm, properly timed laughter that remote can't seem to get right.
I am reminded of the talents, care and kindness of these individuals and the incredible force for good they are when we come together for this mission.
It can be tempting to dwell on the hardships and difficult to remember all the victories through this time apart but on a fall day, when the beauty of dark clouds alongside bright blue skies is clear, we are reminded it's all part of the composition.

These are some thoughts about coming together for our first all staff in-person meeting during the pandemic. The meeting’s purpose was a “culture audit” where we were able to share our struggles and frustrations along with gratitude and triumphs experienced during this troubling period. It was one of those tough days where genuine sharing drew drifting workmates and friends back in close and provided a rough road map for resilience and improvement. A great investment by an incredible organization and group of people.
