Our bays, creeks and landscapes have personalities of course, and she is a matriarch for our northern lives, embracing us all in her warm outstretched sandy arms.
The tired, the jubilant, the young and the old.
Her waters are filled with life’s memories and concerns- the distinct sound of your summer camp cabin door slamming, hoping the cancer goes away, tearful gratitude for a healthy baby…
We swim in all of them and and look at them from the shore for new perspective. Somewhere out where the water turns dark blue they all mix together, she opens her arms and they drift away. If only for a moment.
